I'm using rstcheck (https://github.com/myint/rstcheck) to ensure RST code and python code in slides is OK, however it raises an "(ERROR/3) Document or section may not begin with a transition." because the first slide is empty, and so begins with a transition to the following slide.

I can't see how to have a "title slide" without using this improper RST syntax, though, and using any content (even an RST comment) in the title slide, before the transition marker, turns it into a normal slide.
