Smelting with Lens Problem

In the quest called "Smelting With Starlight", it says you can smelt items with colored lens and starlight. However, you can't smelt metals like Iron Ore/ Pulverized Iron in that. Maybe it isn't meant to be something to cook metals but crafting ingots out of 9 nuggets, and 9 ores in this context, is super annoying. If it's like that, it doesn't cook metals i mean, I would be appreciated if you could explain a way that makes sense to turn ores into ingots.

P.S. In the photo, light beam is directly reflected towards the ore.

because its working like furnuce if you cant smelt iron ore in furnuce you cant smelt with that lens too
