On OS X, this is organized with external third party libraries. The SDL2 is ancient and won't compile properly on OS X. Probably other libraries are old too.

Honestly, the sdl2 library should use autoconf to build. The cmake build is busted or at least totally not documented. I can't get it to compile properly.
