Describe the bug

Battery seems to be draining significantly when device is powered-off. Differences of up to 10-20% when turning device back on after a few hours.

How to reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Fully charge battery to 100%
  2. Turn off properly, via the menu option to shut down
  3. Turn on after a few hours, note consistent percentage drop

Information

  • ROCKNIX Version: 20240517
  • Hardware Platform: Powkiddy RGB10 MAX 3

Log file

No error to log as such

Context

Some Powkiddy devices seem to have problems with charge percentage display anyway, which I have been trying to address by fully charging, disconnecting/reconnecting battery, fully cycling a charge, etc. But, that aside, there seems to be a consistent drain on the battery when the device is powered-off. I have been shutting down from the menu, not using sleep mode or anything else.

Did you ever encounter it dead?

Duplicate bug #256

I disagree with duplicate as I have never encountered this myself on rgb10max3, I have left it off for several weeks and to start it with 80-90% battery a couple of times. The rk2023 and rgb30v1 dies within a few days. However I do suspect that this report is actually not what it states: battery drainage, and more likely an battery reporting bug. Hence I do support closing it.

I have encountered it dead after turning it off with some battery left. Might be a battery reporting bug alright, trying to figure out what's going on.
