Hi everyone 👋!
My name is Ceres and I'm a Research Scientist at the Canadian Forestry Service, where I use (many) SpaDES modules - especially those in the LandR family - to simulate forest dynamics under various global change drivers. My research interests lie on understanding ecosystem resilience and stability to disturbances, particularly in a forecasting setting.

I became a contributor to SpaDES packages back in 2017 (!) and am core developer of several LandR modules, including LandR Biomass_core.

Hi everyone! I'm Shirin Varkouhi, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Laval. My research focuses on developing and applying a spatial model of forest dynamics for ecological forecasting in Eastern Canada. I use SpaDES modules, particularly LandR and LandR-CS, to simulate forest dynamics and understand ecosystem responses to global change drivers. My goal is to improve our understanding of forest resilience and stability under various scenarios to inform sustainable management practices.

Hi everyone! I am an alumni of the McIntire/Predictive Ecology lab, where I worked tightly with Tati Micheletti to develop and forecast caribou and birds in the NWT using SpaDES. My team here at Laurier continues to produce northern wildlife models and get trained on model integration in SpaDES to develop wildlife forecasts. Happy to connect and learn. Hello/Bonjour,

My name is Céline Boisvenue, I am a Research Scientist at the Pacific Forestry Centre, a regional office of Natural Resources Canada. I have been working in forests since I was 14 and now modelling forest dynamics for 25 years. I use SpaDES to link models and attempt to inform the simultaneous globally important problems of Nature Based Climate solutions, wildfire risk under climate change, and degradation of natural ecosystems. In the SpaDES team, I do everything carbon, and lead to development of spadesCBM, the link to the CFS carbon model used for international reporting.
