Description

The upstream RTOFS will update to v2.5. This update requires a companion update to the GFS due to the 2nd digit version update (4->5) and related COM path change.

Target version

v16.3.22 (TBD)

Expected workflow changes

  • The rtofs_ver will be updated to rtofs_ver=v2.5 in versions/run.ver.
  • Release notes will be written

Tasks

  • Create release branch
  • Make workflow changes for upgrade in release branch (add additional checklist items as needed)
  • Create release notes
  • Cut hand-off tag for CDF
  • Submit CDF to NCO
  • Implementation into operations complete
  • Merge release branch into operational branch
  • Cut version tag from operational branch
  • Release new version tag
  • Announce to users
  • Update Read-The-Docs operations status version in develop
