Feature Request: Option to turn off deinterlace #309
Comments
What issue do you see? |
Thank you for responding. I'm using analog out out of my Mister Pi and see a visual difference when selecting either weave or bob option for deinterlace. Bob has a shimmering around the edges that weave does not, like on the psx startup logo. So that's why I was assuming that the deinterlace algorithm (either one) is doing something to the analog output. Is what the Mister's OSD reports for analog resolution incorrect? When in weave, it says analog is interlace (ex. 448i in Silent Hill menu) but in bob it says it is progressive (same screen, 224). |
Bob was made only for HDMI, just leave it at weave, this is the normal output. |
Okay, sounds good. Thank you for the clarification! Was wondering if I would be see weaving deinterlace artifacting. Weirdly Bob setting is closer to my original PSX SCPH-7501 Dec 1998 model (similarly has a shimmer over composite). But I'll take the steady image from weave! |
No, deinterlacing artifacts cannot be seen over analog out, because that path has no deinterlacing anyway, it's only in the HDMI scaler. |
Can a "deinterlace: off" option be added so that a connected CRT TV can handle the interlaced signal itself?
