The current medical dashboard in OpenEmr lacks the ability to modify vitals that were recorded in the most recent patient visit. In order to update these vitals, users have to repeatedly navigate through several steps to access the appropriate options for editing them within a selected encounter. This same issue has been observed in LH-EHR too, that’s why its being reported here.
Steps to Replicate the Issue:
Login to the OpenEmr.
Click on "Finder" and select a patient to work on.
The Medical Record Dashboard of the patient will open up.
Click on the “+” near the "Select Encounter" tab on the top of the patient's dashboard.
The New Encounter Form for the patient will open up.
Enter all relevant visit details of that encounter, and save the changes.
Encounter for the patient will be created and the patient summary will be displayed.
Click on the “Clinical” tab and select vitals from the drop-down menu.
The page containing vitals will open up and display different options to enter the height, weight, BP, respiration, etc., of the patient. Save the changes after filling the required ones.
Navigate back to the Medical Record Dashboard by clicking the patient's name.
The Medical Record Dashboard displays all entered vitals under an expandable "Vitals" tab, but it does not provide the option to edit these details.
To enhance user convenience, an editing feature should be incorporated into the Dashboard, allowing users to update the vitals entered during the latest encounter without having to select the encounter every time. This would streamline the process and eliminate the need for users to navigate through multiple steps to make simple updates to their medical records.
