  • What command(s) did you run? I just downloaded taskwarrior from my package manager for the first time. I started typing and it wouldn't accept input after task . The next letter I tried to type was a.

Workaround

I started up bash and I was able to run task --version (output '2.6.1'). Then I tried running another command and it offered to generate a default config file. I said yes.

Moving back to fish, I tried again. It seems to work now!

Repeatable?

I deleted the database and the config file, restarted my terminal, and tried again. It happened again! This time, I was able to type task ad before it froze. Pressing ctrl+c twice unfroze it and rescued my terminal session.

I did the workaround again and it seems fine now.

System info

  • fish version 3.7.1
  • taskwarrior version 2.6.1
  • gnome terminal 3.44.0
