What is your suggestion, and why should it be implemented?

It would be great if it were possible to access the character selector menu using a gamepad, for example, by pressing the north button. I think this was obviously planned, but I'll open the issue anyway.

Oh, I just noticed that this was actually implemented! However, in an empty save file, the controls aren't set yet. I think I'll rename the issue to avoid confusing anyone...
