Does it automatically take credentials from the AWS Config or AWS SDK Loaded Variables from Role/ENV?

I need to know if the package supports taking the config of AWS from the Environment. I am using aws-sdk already and it takes the creds from the role of the deployed machine. is the package able to assume the same role.
