Since VS Code 1.96 the overtype mode is built-in. I think this should be mentioned in the description / documentation of the extension.

Note: Another issue #48 discusses if there are cases where this extension is still relevant.

I noticed that there is already an issue to describe the differences: #48
I changed this issue to just request mentioning the built-in feature in the documentation of this extension.
