Expected behavior
Chevron icons in the header menu should point down by default to indicate that lower level content will revealed in a dropdown. Once the dropdown menu is opened, the arrow should then point upward to indicate that moving away from the dropdown will collapse the dropdown currently in use.
To Reproduce
List the steps to reproduce the bug:
Go to any page on civicactions.com
Access any menu item where there is a dropdown element. Ex: Company, Services, or Our Work
Notice that the direction of the chevron arrow switches from up to down.
Move away from the menu item and notice that the arrow switches back to the default position pointing up.
Additional context
It is a UX best practice for arrows in header menus that will show/hide information point the direction that the action will happen in. You can read more about guidance for header components in the US Web Design System
