There should be a way to save images into the html5 application itself without the use of server-side storage. Possible solutions include html5 file access (http://www.html5rocks.com/en/features/file), the App Cache (http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/appcache/beginner/), or app-store specific APIs (like Chrome webstore, Apple appstore, etc).
